Happy Birthday Mother

Happy Birthday to my Dearest Mother
It's just a little less than half your life time you've had me in it, i forced you to grow up when you were just a mere child. You were just another kid in this crazy world.
And with the odds stacked up against you, you overcame odds and raised me better than TV moms do. You're the best mother i could EVER ask for. I love you so much, and I don't want you to ever forget that. I am so grateful you have done what you have done for me. You could have taken the easy road, given me up for adoption, got an abortion, or just kept me and not cared about me... And you didn't, and i am SO SO SO SO SO SO LUCKY! You've done an amazing job, with all your kids. You're an amazing mother and an amazing wife. I've never starved, I've never been to cold or to hot, i've never been unloved or lonely. And I never will be, I can always count on you Mom.
You're much more than my Mom, you're a friend, someone I can rely on, someone to tell me how it needs to be told, tell me the things I don't want but need to hear to better me as a person. If that isn't the qualities of a great mother, someone needs to tell me what is. My mom is great and I love her so much!
Mom- Again, I love you and I hope you had a FABULOUS birthday, you deserve it and thanks for everything you do for me, I can't ever thank you enough, or tell you i love you enough. You mean so much to me, and if you wouldn't have raised me like you did, I would be lost and probably sittin on a curb smokin' weeed. Not the life for me, you have showed me the way and I am so blessed that God gave you as my mother. I couldn't pick any other better one, I love you so much and again, hope you had a great day!

Fall 2010 Term: COMPLETE!

Me and Bo trying to keep Josh warm.
It snowed during Fall term, but I survived. Just like I survived my crappy Math class, health class, and finals. I've made a lot of good friends at Western, but at a price have lost some friends from back home. Which upsets me a little, I miss Jason, Dawson, Parks... I've seen Dawson once since I moved. That's about it. It's kind of a downer, but I'm adapting ok, and now that I'm on break I hope to see them a couple times.
Above is a picture with the majority of the guys whom I get along with the best, minus a few guys. The guy to my left is Jake White, and to my right is Cooper. Me and Coooper are pretty good friends, he broke his leg. Both of those guys went to West Albany and I played football against them. Then the guy in the middle with the grey hoodie and nice face is Mr. Bayley (Coach Altman) He's a super funny guy.
I'm excited for break, I'm gonna be working a little bit while I'm on break, December 10 is the Younglife xmas party reunion, pumped for that! December 12-14 I will be in Detroit again, hangin with some guys. All of one i won't know, should be interesting. December 15th i begin work, December 16th I will be having a guys campaigner for wyldlife, and the 18th is the Wyldlife Blazer Game and the last club of the term :(
Wyldlife is going super well, we're having more and more show up it seems like. So I'm hoping to get some guys to camp!
Happy Holidays Love 2C!

Blogging...

I thought blogging would be easy, because initially I thought, I would have a ton of stuff to blog about....

Well.. TURNS OUT I WAS WRONG!

But here's a brief catch-up!

College:
College is really really good. I love it, I've made a few new friends... It's kind of hard not to when you live with them. My favorite's Cooper Smith, he's a hoot. Me and Bo are still getting along really well for the most part. And classes... Well, i've been more excited about classes. Next term I'm taking basketball, foundation of exercise science, history of rock&roll, Computer Science 122, and Biology with a Biology Lab... I'm looking forward to all of it with the exception of Biology. I struggled in High School with it, and I just have a feeling it might happen again :( But hopefully it will all turn out good!
Family:
I still see my family on most weekends, I think Jagger misses Miranda more than he misses me. I like going home on weekends to catch-up, and it's so much more relaxing at home then it is at WOU. Which i like, i have the loudest halls in all of the Campus, and to manys disbelief im one of the 'quieter' kids... Weird, Right? I babysat Diego not to far back, I like seeing Diego and my Aunt Meghan, and Eddie... I miss them a lot too, and it's fun when i see them as well...

Me and my Mom generally txt 2-3 times a week, which is nice...

Bryan's going to be out of town in 2 weeks or so, so my Mom said they are going to come visit then and have some Dinner, which will be nice... Except Bryan wont be there.

Wyldlife:
Wyldlife is going pretty good this year, we're having really good turn outs so far, and i really hope to take a lot of kids to camp this year... Miranda, has just become a leader and im super happy for her. I know she's gonna be able to do great things for the ministry. We just had a leadership weekend at Detroit and had an awesome time, we were missing a few leaders but all-in-all it was just a great fun trip!
Life:
Life overall is not too bad, I've been doing pretty good. I'm going to Eaglecrest in tomorrow and i'm pretty pumped about that, then on Friday I'm going to the Blazers game against the NBA's best team at the moment, the New Orleans Hornets... So i'm not gonna be at Eaglecrest the entire time my family is but i'm still gonna have a ton of fun and make the most of time being there! The only down part about the Blazer game is the ducks play right before them... So i wont get to watch the end of it and the Ducks are 2 steps away from the NATIONAL TITLE GAME! I hope they go!

Sorry, for the lack of updates, but I will continue to try and find more to do so i can let everyone know how it's going.

Happy Birthday To Me!

Last Thursday was my birthday, and i had a full day of classes! I though i had a great excuse to skip, but I decided against it, so my record is still clean! I celebrated with my mom, bryan, olivia, miranda, jagger, my grandma, and the newest addition to the family...Luke. Boy he's gonna have a hard time... He hung in there though.

We all went to dinner at the cheesecake factory, and it was really good! I got a sweet pair of slippers and some movie tickets from my family... I really enjoyed the night and seeing my family because I didn't go home that weekend.
Miranda took me out to dinner friday, and we went to a pretty cool haunted house too. I had a lot of fun hanging out with her friday:) She got me some sweatpants, a sweatshirt, some SWEET glow sticks, and she made me a really cool scrap book that i'm really impressed with and I reallly love it:)
Thank you to everyone who wished me happy birthday!

Redecorated

So this is what our rooms look like now, i have no idea how but it definately seems like we have more room, and i just dont understand why. Because stuff that was under the bed is no longer under the bed, which baffles me but it's definately the impression we have a ton more room. Anyways, this is what it looks like now for everyone who doens't have time to drop me a visit.

Week Two: Check

Mark week number two done for freshmen year in my first term. Second week was probably 10 times harder then the first! I had a test, I have a lot more homework to do by Monday/Tuesday. Which is something i like about school a lot, I only have certain classes every day... For instance I have a public speaking assignment to do, but I don't have that class till 2 o'clock on tuesday. But I have an Individual Health & Fitness assignemnt due tomorrow and I have that class monday. So I like that fact of college, and you can turn in everything early! SoI try to take advantage of that because I don't wanna have something slip my mind or anything. I like the majority of my teachers... Professor Bruce is kind of a turd... Byt hey it's college. Hopefully week 3 doesnt become 10 times harder than week 2... That would seriously suck.

#4 Ducks vs #9 Stanford

Gameday
Last Saturday Miranda and I went to the big game at Autzen stadium last weekend. And it was freaking awesome. It was the 4th best team in the nation, vs the ninth best team in the nation. And it was my first Oregon game! I freaking loved it. "College Gameday" was there, which is a show on ESPN, that starts at 7 AM... You bet we were there. We got up at about 430 to try and make it, we didn't... we were about 10 minutes late. But not bad for never driving in Eugene and not getting lost :)
Here we are at Gameday, we tried so hard to get on TV i just dont know if it happened or not. At gameday a ton of people bring huge signs to get on TV, and i thought the one above was the best one i saw that day.

The problem here was that, Gameday started at 7... Got over at 9, which would be fine and dandy if the game started at one, like it usually does... But nope, this game got the prime time slot, it started at 5 pm... Which we had thought of, and just kinda decided that we were just gonna wing it. Which really didn't turn out that bad. We went to Ihop for breakfast which was good, then we went to the official Duck Store, and picked up some things. And then we were at a blank for a while, and we decided to go to a Mall. I just typed in mall on the navigation and it took us to there. Which happened to have a theater, attatched so we looked up the movies and Miranda wanted to see a movie called 'Easy-A' Which happened to be about a slut, who wasn't really a slut, she just pretended to have sex with a bunch of guys for giftcards. Dumb. Anyways after that garbage we got ready to go and headed to Autzen. It was about 330 give or take.

And these were our seats, we had really good seats. Thank you stubhub. :) Anyways, the game started out SUPER SUPER SUPER bad. At the end of the first quarter it was 21-3 Stanford... I honestly thought, wow i might be leaving at halftime because this is so embarrassing. Which would have sucked. But then the 2nd quarter came around and the only scored 10 points while we put up 21 ourselves. And we were only down by 7 at halftime. And in the 2ndd half.... it was ALL DUCKS. We scored 28, Stanford scored 0. The ducks ended up openin' a can on Stanford and won 52-31. So i was pretty happy at the end of the day. :)Took this picture right from my seat, it was the 2nd to last touchdown they scored. And it came right at us, it was pretty sweet.

And after the game we got to go onto the field, but we were in the middle and didnt get to touch or talk to any players :( but it was still cool to go down on the field. The place was crazy though. It was a lot of fun.

That's us on the field above, with a lot of editing. And below is something my mom does, take a picture of the scoreboard, except unlinke most of the ones she showed on her blog for my football season, this is a scoreboard i dont feel like puking when i look at it. :)
And somewhere in that big mob of people... are me and Miranda. And we have tickets to a game November 6 against Washington.

First Day (With Classes)

Today I started my classes, I didn't have class till 2 and I only had 2 classes. So it was a relatively easy day, I had my lecture for individual health and fitness which is kind of a super lame class. The lab for it won't be that bad, but I think I'll survive. Hopefully... And then I had my math class, which I only have to have ONE TERM OF! which i'm super excited about. And guess who walked in and sat next to me, no one other than mr ricky zeis. So that's kinda nice i'll have a buddy to help me out who's had the class before. Tomorrow i have my badmitton class, freshmen experience, public speaking and my math class. That's my schedule on tuesdays and thursdays. 930-450... That's probably gonna kill me eventually. But it's only for 10 weeks, that's my update for the day... Not much else to talk about. I didn't get much homework thank goodness.

On the way to the 49ers Game

Ah.. Week one of the NFL season! And the 49ers are in town, well theyre in Seattle and my Grandpa does business up there and was able to get me tickets. He has gotten me tickets before, but back then my varsity football coach was on the team and he'd get me back where all the players were which was pretty cool. I remember chasing down Terrell Owens for an autograph... And looking back he was actually super nice about it. But Scott doesnt play for them anymore so today were just going to watch and that's fine with me. it's been a while since ive gone and being as it is that i miss football so much lately i think just adds more excitement. So today Bryan, Olivia, Miranda and I hoped in the car stopped for some McDonalds and are now in Washington... the game starts at 115 and the 49ers are gonna win...no doubt:)

Countdown....Engage

It is officially 10 count 'em TEN days until I leave my mommy! I move in September 19th. And i cannot believe it, I just can't picture what life after college is gonna be like, but i said the same about after High School and here i am. I'm looking forward to meeting some good guys at college, i'm living in Heritage Hall. I set myself up for a simple first term of college, just so i can start with a decent GPA because I know it's easier to keep it up then to bring it up. So i have class only 4 days a week. Totalling 5 classes, and the only one i'm concerned with is Math 111. College Algebra, but if that's my biggest worry, i think i'll be good. My other 4 classes are Freshmen Experience, Public Speaking, PE 131, but it's more like Health/Individual Fitness... And finally Badmitton, PE 132. I'm hoping for all A's but i think if I shoot for A's and a B in Math, that's a good goal thats very achievable. But i'm not counting myself out for the 4.0 just yet! Im excited about Intramural Sports, beating my mom in a bet we have going on for 100 bucks, chillin, and just the overall college experience. I'm not looking forward to driving back and forth, working on weekends, and definately gonna be hard not being able to see my family and Miranda everyday. I don't wanna say I took it all for granted but i definately see myself being homesick even though i'm only gone for 4 sometimes 5 days. I'm also super excited for WyldLife this year, we have probably another rebuilding year... But i'm hoping for another successful camp. I also want another tattoo soon, and the possibility of getting my ears pierced has not left the noggin yet lol. Well... don't really have much else... just kinda wrote to catch up!

It's been a minute.

Been a minute since i last posted...

Somethin eatin at me is i can no longer put on my shoulder pads, throw on my ochocinco jersey and play football again:( it's truly one of the hardest things i've had to deal with, i can't believe it's over. i thought it sucked after my last game, that isn't nothin' compared to how i feel now. I hate this feeling and wish it would go away. But it won't unless i magically become a 4star recruit and play at oregon. Other than that, nothing can fill the void i have in me.

Work...
Just Sports is still where it's at, and i dont think thats gonna change! ha! i love that job so much, i sit around and BS with my co-workers and talk about sports and play catch... pretty sweet really.

Wyldlife...
Lookin' forward to this year so ridiculously much. We still meet weekly with the group from last year with occasional guessts from prior years. Hopefully camp next year will be just as memorable!

Family...
Jag's doin football, and i've been helpin out coach. Thats a time investment! haha but it's fun and i enjoy the kids. That's actually sadly probably the most i see my family...

BYRD!
One of my best friends from highschool just moved to Pennsylvania, we have quite the history lol. But we've become super close, and i'm sad to see him move. I plan to visit him sometime this year and i know i'll see him when he comes back... He's just a good guy and i'm happy that he's doing what he wants to do with his life. I'll flap my wings for him in rememberence! O!

College..
BRING IT ON!

Miranda...
Still amazing, and perfect:)

Camp 2010

Top of Communication Hill. On Way Up Communication Hill.
This is Wildhorse Canyon, well now it's Washington Family Ranch, WaFaRa, Camp, whatever you wanna call it, it's amazing!

So many people ask what you do there, and I always say i'm gonna respond to that with a counter question, what DONT you do there?

You get an amazing week at a beautiful place with no technological services which is just super nice but i had 28 unread txts, 4 voicemails, and a bunch of e-mails. But it's just so worth it! There's a blob, if you don't know what a blob is, google that. There's a lake with a 1/4 mile long zip line, inflatables in the lake, pool with a diving board. AMAZING food, frisbee golf... It's just a crazy amazing place.
This was my crew this year: Kyle, Max, Junior, Joel, Kyle, and Cole.
The other guy in the green shirt&hat is Scott.
I grew super close to these guys this year, and me and Scott helped most of them either reconnect with Jesus or completely start a relationship with him. Which was probably the best thing i could possibly ask for, and it was just an amazing experience.
These are the other four leaders that went with this year.^^Vanessa^^
^^ Anna ^^ ^^Scottt&Luci^^
The whole gang takin a 'goofy' picture... I got pretty close with Scott which was pretty legit and we shared some good laughs, I also enjoyed hanging out with the girls when we did, but we mainly hungout with our boys, i only saw the girls at meals and when we woke up for devotionals.
Olivia also goes to Wyldlife Camp as a camper, and i think she really enjoys it because she has made new friends every year, and just because it's a super fun camp! But that's us on the dress up night, the guys didn't dress up at all but all the girls did... Oh well.
Cole got me and Scott good with the pies in the faces... That kinda sucked..
The after math of it, and later max and joel got us each like 3 times simutaneously and we had to resort to rubbing our faces throughout the grass to help clean up. As you can see..
But i still managed to have some fun haha!

Some more pictures:
Scott&I had to jump into the water as soon as we got there... With all our clothes on.
Afterwords... ya...
Waitin' For Dinner
Just Doin My Thing
My Boys
This is Kyle, hes 4' 9" and just has a heart of gold and is a ball of compassion. Love that kid.
Joel- Technically shouldn't have gone this year but thank goodness he did, he reconnected and was just a blast to have around, we've hungout before and he's just a cool guy.
Me and Vanessa Again
Oh ya know... Just How I Do.
So this trip was AMAZING! Wyldlife has been a huge part of my life the past 2 years and as we were coming home from Camp on the bus I took a nap and when i woke up i just kind of thought about camp, and Wyldlife and if I was gonna do it next year... and i was still kinda unsure, because i want to yet i dont wanna pre committ and have school kill me. But when I actually woke up a YL shirt was infront of me in a tub and it was the first thing i saw and it read
"You were made for this"
So... I am really gonna push to it next year because i really think i was, i connect with kids and it is something i actually like doing.
See you next year WaFaRa!

Babysitting, Golf, Just Sports, Antelope

Been kinda sorta busy lately!

The other day i recieved my graduation present from my parents, which i hand selected... Golf Clubs, just a starter set from Dick's Sporting Goods but i've used them twice now and i really like using them and look forward to getting more and mroe used to them and getting better and making it a regular hobby!

Upon recieving my clubs, I babysat Diego yesterday as well. We had some good times, we ate some snacks of course... Watched Toy Story 2, played on the train tracks and oh yeah we watched his parents wedding... that was interesting lol! But overall it was a good day as well.

Just Sports... Been a big time consumer lately. I've been working there a ton lately! Covering someone elses shift and keeping mine as well. But I am in no way complaining, i just got a 790 dollar check today... Well... PLUS FREAKING TAXES... I HATE THOSE!

It ended up being 610 but that is still way more than i ever expected to get from Just Sports so again i am in no way complaining lol.

Antelope Oregon! I leave for camp in TWO DAYS!!! I'm stoked! I can't wait to get to know some of the guys that i'm going with and look forward to whatever is in store for us! So this will probably be my last post before i get back and i will tell you all about 'camp'

GONNA BE OFF THE CHAIN!

Monday, July 19, 2010

something to think about..

I opened the Just Sports store today, I had a very saddening email, it was from a manager and was about a couple who work for just sports in idaho and even met through a just sports store.

They touched me today, they lost there 18 month old daughter to a tragic accident and I can't help but feel horrible. her name was presley and faught hard, I ask that you pray for the family and view there blog www.patrickandashley.blogspot.com its sad and hope that maybe it makes you think a little bit too.

VooDoo/Swimming

A few nights ago, Miranda and I went out to Portland with a few friends, Matt and Rachel. I've been good friends with Rachel since Sophomore year and senior year she started dating a good friend of mine, Matt.

We went to VooDoo Donuts and it was definately an experience, I liked it, Matt liked, Rachel liked... Not Miranda. Which was fine, I only hit her once ;) I had a donut with captain crunch on it and a donut with oreos. The Oreo one was actually super good.

After donuts we went to the riverfront and saw some homeless people that was nice.

And last night we went swimming at my grandma's with some other friends, Bo and Jane. Bo and I have been tight since we were in like 3rd grade or so. And he finally settled down this year with Jane. Anyways, it was a good time. As swimming at my grandma's usually is.

~Miranda Lynn~

Prom^^

That would be my beautiful girlfriend... Can ya believe it?? Neither can I.
She puts up with me when i put on a ridiculous tux for prom.. She puts up with my other crazy antics, and just puts up with me in general.
She makes me feel like theee luckiest guy in the entire world, becuase i can really be a turd. And she never throws a fit, and always puts up with me. She's INCREDIBLE! She's super sweet, nice, and a good listener... And even though she doesn't understand most things... I stilll love her. I don't know anyone who has anything bad to say about her, most people say... She's the nicest sweetest person. Which is partly cuz she hates making people feel bad so she makes herself feel like crap, but that's who she is... Putting others before herself. She's just an amazing girl, and i didn't know girls like her existed. Im super happy i found her!:)

My whole family loves her, which is nice... Not that finding someone for my mom to like is hard, she jsut wants someone who will talk! Which at first i was nervous for miranda because she's kinda shy.. But she gets along and fits in with my family great!
A lot of people ask me if i plan on marrying her and i usually i just say, "Really? Aren't we a little young to be thinking about that? That'd just add a lot of stress" But here's what i do know, I have the most amazing girlfriend ever, and I don't think I could ever find a girl even close to what she does for me. I also know that I love her a lot, and don't ever want to hurt her.
